For a long time it has been my pleasure to depend on Erin in two settings. I have depended on Erin in her role as office manager when she was at All Creatures Animal Hospital, and I have depended on her for the care of my dogs and home when I travel. I happen to own dogs, but if I had owned cats, birds, small mammals or reptiles, my story would be just the same. I take her reliability and her expertise for granted, because I never have had cause for a moment’s doubt. As important as her knowledge, skill and reliability have been, there is one more quality of equal importance. Erin understands animals, and she is able to gain their trust. My dogs all have taken to her from the first meeting, and have then grown to love her even more as time passed. When they know she is going to care for them while I am away, they are completely at ease. Saying her name makes tails wag! Everybody who has seen her with any of these animals agrees with me, because it is so readily apparent. Without Erin, I simply could not travel or work out of town as I do now without a worry. I know other people who depend on Erin just as I do, and every single one of them shares my deep appreciation of all she does. We often exclaim how lucky we are to have found her.
If I could sum Erin up in one word, it would be “priceless”! We have known Erin since she was a warm and friendly angel greeting us at All Creatures Animal Hospital about 13 years ago. We learned from a friend that she visited furry friends when their parents were out of town, and then she started visiting our babies. She cuddled with our fuzzballs while she worked at the ASPCA (how’s that for credentials!?!) Here we are, so many years later, and she has decided to dedicate herself solely to sharing her love with all of the animals in the area when their parents are away. Erin is simply the best. There’s no other way for me to say it! She’s so enthusiastic! Whenever we need her, we can rely upon her to hang with our fuzzy love ones, and she goes above and beyond making sure everyone is happy while their parents have to be away. Knowing Erin is there for our kids sets our minds at ease if we have to leave them. I have no idea what we would do without her. She makes our world–better yet, the world of all creatures big or small, a more delightful one!! It would be hard to imagine a better match for our little ones!
My big beautiful iggy, Dorian, can be quite the handful, and not the most pleasant of lizards to deal with. But Erin’s experience with exotics always puts my mind at ease when I have to leave big bad Dor-Dor, my ginormous Asian water monitor, Gobo, and sweet little beardie, Ulee, with Erin when I can’t be there. You can find no one better to handle your kids than Erin. She knows her scales through and through.
Old English Sheepdogs are silly and social. McKenzie is no exception. She is happiest around her friends and Erin in one of her BFFs! When I need to leave town, I have no worries knowing that between beauty naps, McKenzie will be the center of attention when Erin visits with her. They will cuddle on the couch, take walks and visit with the neighborhood dogs. Erin’s the best!
When I first met Erin, I was desperately looking for someone to sit my parakeet, and she offered to do so at the very last minute. What I didn’t know at the time was the care, love and attention Erin would lavish on Teki. I knew that her house would be clean, safe and she could take care of him from her knowledge of birds as an owner and from working at All Creatures Animal Hospital. But when I was able to pick him up again, I also found a happy bird who didn’t want to leave all the new friends he had made! Teki found more than a caretaker in Erin. She has a special ability to make any pet love and respect her. Now I have seven birds. I know that whenever I leave my small flock in her care that when I return they will all be healthy, well fed, and happy. She always goes above and beyond and loves them like her own. That is the greatest reassurance any pet owner could possibly obtain. I frequently hear envious remarks from my dad about how he can never find a pet sitter as exceptional as Erin. Secretly, I’m selfishly glad she decided to stay in Champaign-Urbana.
We’re head over heels about Erin!
We first met at the Veterinarian’s office where I took my rabbits. Erin has cared for my pets for the last 10 years or more. She is friendly, responsible, and knows her pets – both domestic and exotic. She also works for ASPCA and does animal rescue. Erin has compassion and understanding for the importance of pets in our lives.
Erin has watched my two reptiles, Caliban the iguana and Irwin the bearded dragon, for the past few years. She’s always incredibly attentive, making sure each of them gets their time in the tub and their special snacks. I don’t even think they mind me being gone that much! In December, I took a two-week trip to India. Erin came over every day through the snow, chopped their veggies, and made sure they stayed happy and warm. Leaving for a long period of time in the winter can be worrisome for a reptile owner; you never know if a winter storm will cut out the heat. But I could travel with peace of mind knowing that I had left them in Erin’s care.
Erin is a wonderful, trustworthy, reliable companion for our 15 your old standard poodle, Chewbacca! After returning from out-of-town trips he is now relaxed and at ease. This is a big change from his previous bouts of anxiety while I am gone. I believe Bacca feels secure and loved while with Erin. She has my highest recommendation.
Erin is a doll and our very picky kitties just love to have her visit. Our big Baby is usually afraid of new people and hides, but for Erin he came right out and made friends. We’ve been stuck away for longer than we anticipated and never had a moment’s doubt that the cats would be okay! Erin came to see them an extra time until we could come home. We’ve even gotten email updates and photos! One of the biggest advantages to having Erin watch my kitties is the added security of having someone who knows when something is medically wrong. One of our cats has a congenital kidney problem and has always been on medication, and I know that if something were to go wrong with him that Erin would not only notice, but take action! Erin is the best thing to happen to our cats, they would be lost without her!
Lois and I are the proud owners of Ella, a 10 pound 7 year old miniature poodle. For over three years we have boarded her with Erin every time we have been out of town. We have been extremely well satisfied with the loving, excellent care and attention that Erin provides. Erin is a unique person who has an outstanding rapport with animals who reciprocate and get along extremely well with her. She loves animals and bonds with them at first sight. Erin keeps Ella in her home and never in a cage. Ella sleeps with her at night and considers Erin’s house her second home. When Erin worked at All Creatures, Ella would sit in Erin’s lap waiting for Lois to fetch her each time Ella is there. We most highly recommend Erin without any reservations what so ever.
